Weight Loss Mission
The holidays crunched me, or rather expanded me a bit more than I would like. I really wish when I stepped on the scale I saw 126.4lbs. That isn’t so much the case. I really only have about 20lbs to lose to feel comfortable again, but I’d be happy with a bit more.
I’ve never much been one to watch what I eat. I love food! But over the holidays I noticed that it was getting me into a bit of trouble weight wise. So I started paying attention to how much I ate, which helped. We also got a Wii, and while I don’t have Wii fit (yet!) - Wii Outdoor Challenge and Wii Sports have kept me fairly active lately. This in addition to watching how much I eat, has helped a lot. I’ve also increased my water intake which has kept me from being as hungry. All of these small measures are helping in small ways, but I’m ready to see a more significant difference while still enjoying food, because after all, as I mentioned -I love food!
My newest endeavor is to really watch how I am preparing food. Less salt, less fat, etc. The recipes on here won’t change too much, and I will always share my favorites as I always have, but I am going to also share a few recipes that are of a lighter fare as well. I just realize that eating healthy is so important, and I want to make a difference not only in my own life, but my kids’ lives too. Do you have any resolutions this year?

The holidays wreaked havoc on my waistline too. One of my resolutions this year is to eat more fruits & veggies every day. I’m also putting my subscription to Cooking Light magazine to good use.
I got a Wii Fit and Outdoor Challenge for Christmas and it has been my goal to spend just ten minutes a day on my Wii Fit. Has it works so far? No. The past couple of days I’ve been pretty busy. But, I haven’t given up on the goal.
It sounds dorky, but the Wii has actually increased my daily activity level! Outdoor Challenge is fun, but I suggest getting the Wii Fit. It’s a blast.
I can relate to your weight struggle and am in the same boat. Without fail, if I cut out all gluten and as much sugar as I can, plus walk vigorously for at least a half hour a day I will lose bloating tummy and weight at about 2 to three pounds per week. the resolution for this year is to stick with it. I did it once for 6 months and lost 20 pounds.
