Soda Cake Recipe
So my regulars know that a few weeks back I was questioning the way this cake was made, because it just seemed, I don’t know…too easy to be any good?
Well I am happy to report that I made the Soda Cake tonight and we all loved it. After I took the photos I actually gave everyone some chocolate icing to spread on their cake and that made it even better. So does the cake look good? Do you want the recipe? It’s one of those things that I don’t have to tell you much.
Directions: Go to the store, purchase any boxed cake mix you think sounds good off the shelf. We happened to have white cake mix in our pantry, but we were going to use chocolate - I was out. So once you have the cake mix in your cart, now go over a few aisles to the soda aisle. Select a six pack of any canned soda that sounds good. Want a grape cake? An orange cake? Whatever. We chose Cream soda because I thought the cream would lend itself nicely in ANY cake.
Now, return home. Read the back of the box and preheat your oven at that point. Mine was 350 degrees.
Grab a big mixing bowl, and dump the contents of your cake mix into the bowl. DO NOT ADD EGGS, WATER or OIL.
Grab a can of your soda, pop the top and dump it into the cake mix. Yes, I said dump it into the cake mix. Do it!
Now grab a mixer and mix the whole thing up really well.
Pour into whatever you plan to bake it in - cake pan, cupcake pan, etc. Check the back of the box for the time it takes to cook the cake in that type pan and then set your timer, put your cake in and wait.
Remove after it’s done. Allow to cool before dumping out of the pan (or you’ll end up with the messy looking cake like we had LOL)
EAT!
You’ll shocked at how great it is. I still cannot believe this actually works. Seriously. *shaking head*
Who knew?

Your directions crack me up! Wow–this sounds so easy and suprisinly sounds good too. I am a soda addict so I may have to try this recipe…in fact, I know I will, hehe. Thanks so much for sharing it.
